Prajnaparamita, goddess of supreme wisdom, sits cross-legged on a lotus flower that is placed on a throne. Her hands form the gesture that denotes the turning of the wheel of Buddhist law (dharmacakramudra). Her loincloth has a geometrical pattern of circles and diamonds on it. A lotus flower to the left of Prajnaparamita’s shoulder carries a book, representing the Prajnaparamita-sutra, of which she is a manifestation. The goddess is richly adorned with jewellery.
